This mini review aims at summarizing the current state-of-the-art of empirical unlearning and intentional forgetting (U/IF) research individual, team, organizational level. It adds to an earlier incorporates 31 recent studies from 2019 2022. The reveals that predictors based on organization’s adaptation context (e.g., competitive intensity), organization level leadership exploration activities), individual task-related features routines changed), person-related cognitive control strategies) variables relate process variables, such as type U/IF, U/IF content success beliefs or failure beliefs), information processing team processing). outcome are cross-boundary innovation), performance level, task errors), self-esteem). analyzed levels preferred cross-sectional study designs in-depth qualitative methods, which severely limits possibility making causal statements. In contrast, individual-level use longitudinal well make temporal aspects visible. But these results limited in terms their generalizability other levels.
